Synthetic scores are reference values. Geekbench, Cinebench and 3DMark figures are typical published scores for each part, not results from your machine. Your own run will differ with cooling, power limits, memory speed, BIOS version and benchmark version. Integrated-graphics figures are scaled estimates rather than per-chip measurements.

Compatibility checking has limits. The checker covers socket, memory generation, DIMM count, cooler clearance, card length, case form factor and power draw. It cannot know about BIOS revisions, specific RAM QVL support, unusual case cutouts, cable lengths or a retailer shipping a different board revision. Confirm against the manufacturer spec sheets before ordering.

What each component actually does

Where the money matters and where it does not. Read this before you spend ₹15,000 on a motherboard that makes you exactly zero frames faster.

CPU

Processor

Decides your ceiling in competitive games. Valorant, CS2 and BGMI lean on one or two fast cores, so a cheap 6-core with high clocks beats an expensive 16-core for pure fps. Sockets matter more than the chip: AM5 will take another two generations of upgrade, AM4 and LGA1700 are both at the end of their road.

GPU

Graphics card

The single biggest lever on frame rate at 1440p and above, and where roughly a third of a gaming budget belongs. Check VRAM as hard as you check the model number — an 8GB card in 2026 will stutter in newer titles at 1440p even when its average fps looks fine.

RAM

Memory

Two sticks, always — a single stick halves your memory bandwidth and costs you 10–20% in CPU-bound games for nothing. 16GB is the floor, 32GB is right for most builds now. Prices are brutal in 2026 because AI datacentres are buying every DRAM wafer that exists.

Board

Motherboard

It does not make you faster. What it decides is what you can plug in later: how many M.2 slots, whether Wi-Fi is on board, how much power delivery the VRMs can sustain. Spend the minimum that covers your actual ports, then put the difference in the GPU.

SSD

Storage

NVMe only. The difference between a Gen3 and a Gen5 drive is nearly invisible in games; the difference between an SSD and a hard drive is enormous. 1TB fills up faster than you expect once two shooters are installed.

PSU

Power supply

The one component where saving ₹2,000 can cost you every other part in the case. Buy a known brand, 80+ Bronze at minimum, and size it for peak transient draw rather than the number on the box. The builder above works the figure out for you.

Cooler

Cooling

Stock coolers are fine on 65W chips and nowhere near enough on 105W+ ones. A ₹3,500 dual-tower air cooler matches most 240mm liquid coolers, is quieter, and cannot leak. Check the height against your case before you buy.

Cabinet

Airflow over glass. A mesh front panel is worth more than any number of RGB fans. The two measurements that actually block a build are GPU clearance and cooler height — both are checked automatically above.

What is a good budget for a gaming PC in India in 2026?

Around ₹85,000–₹1,10,000 is the sweet spot right now. Below ₹50,000 an APU build with no discrete graphics card is genuinely the better buy, because the cheapest sensible GPU alone costs ₹18,000 and eats the rest of the budget. Above ₹1,50,000 you are paying for 1440p and 4K headroom rather than for playable frame rates.

Why is RAM so expensive in 2026?

AI datacentre demand absorbed most global DRAM production, roughly doubling DDR5 prices and tripling DDR4. A 32GB DDR5 kit that cost about ₹12,000 in 2024 is ₹38,000–₹48,000 now. NAND flash is in a similar squeeze, which is why SSDs are 30–50% up on their mid-2024 prices. Neither is expected to ease meaningfully before 2027.

Should I buy AM4 or AM5 in 2026?

AM5 unless the budget genuinely will not stretch. AM4 parts are cheap and still fast enough for 1080p, but the socket is done — the only upgrade left is a 5700X3D. AM5 boards will take future Ryzen chips, so the extra spend now buys you a drop-in CPU upgrade in three years instead of a whole new platform.

How much does the CPU matter for Valorant and CS2?

Enormously, and more than the GPU. Both titles are CPU-bound at competitive settings, so pushing past 300 fps depends on single-core speed and memory latency, not on your graphics card. Switch the builder above to 1080p and watch which component it says is limiting you — for esports titles it is almost always the processor.

Is 8GB of VRAM enough in 2026?

At 1080p, mostly yes. At 1440p, no — newer titles exceed it and the symptom is stutter and texture pop-in rather than a low average frame rate, which is exactly why it is easy to miss in a spec comparison. If you are choosing between an 8GB and a 16GB version of the same card, the 16GB one ages far better.

How accurate are the frame rates on this page?

They are modelled, not measured. Each estimate blends a CPU index and a GPU index per game, weighted by how that title behaves, then applies resolution and VRAM penalties. That is good enough to tell you which performance tier a build lands in and where its bottleneck is. It is not review data — expect ±15% against real benchmarks depending on drivers, settings and the specific board.

Where should I actually buy the parts in India?

Compare Amazon.in and Flipkart against specialist retailers such as MD Computers, PrimeABGB, Vedant Computers and TheITDepot before ordering — the spread on the same part is routinely ₹2,000–₹5,000, and the specialists are often cheaper on cases and power supplies. Whoever you use, check the warranty is Indian and not an import.
