Most-asked question in every comment section. Here's what I run, and more usefully — the order I'd upgrade in if you're on a budget.

What I use
Ranked roughly by how much difference it makes per rupee spent.
Lightweight Gaming Mouse
Sub-70g and no flex. If you are coming off a heavy office mouse this is the single biggest upgrade to aim consistency you can buy.
Large Cloth Mousepad
Cheapest meaningful upgrade on this list. A desk-length pad means your sweep never runs out of runway mid-fight — which matters more at low sens.
PTFE Mouse Skates
Two hundred rupees of plastic that makes a worn-out mouse glide like a new one. Replace them once the stock feet start dragging — most people never do.
Mouse Bungee
Only worth it on a wired mouse. Kills cable drag entirely, which removes a small inconsistency from every single flick. Wireless users can skip this.
144Hz+ Monitor
Going from 60Hz to 144Hz is the most obvious improvement you will ever feel in an FPS. Past 240Hz it is diminishing returns for most players.
Monitor Arm
Buys back the whole footprint of the stand and lets you set height properly. Neck pain at the two-hour mark is usually a monitor-height problem.
Closed-Back Headset
Footstep direction wins more rounds than crosshair placement. Isolation beats fake surround processing, which mostly muddies positional cues.
USB Condenser Mic
If you record or stream: audio quality keeps viewers watching longer than video quality does. Start here, before a camera.
Desktop Speakers
Not for competitive play — headphones win there every time. Worth having for everything that is not a ranked match, and for hearing your own stream back.
Mechanical Keyboard (Linear)
Linear switches for clean counter-strafing. Tenkeyless so there is actual room for the mouse to travel.
Controller (for non-FPS)
GTA, racing, anything third-person. Mouse and keyboard is not automatically better outside shooters, and driving with WASD is genuinely worse.
Capture Card (console capture)
Only needed if you are recording a console or a second PC. For single-PC streaming, software encoding on a modern GPU is already better than this.
1080p Webcam
Buy after the microphone, not before. Viewers forgive a soft picture and leave over bad audio. Lighting improves a cheap webcam more than a new webcam does.
Deep Desk (60cm+)
Depth matters more than width. You need room for a full arm sweep at low sensitivity, and most budget desks are too shallow for it.
Supportive Chair
The single most overpriced category in gaming. A decent office chair with real lumbar support beats a racing-style "gaming" chair at half the price.
Wi-Fi 6 Router
Only fixes the last few metres. If your ping is bad because of your ISP, no router changes that — run an ethernet cable before you buy anything.
Line-Interactive UPS
Genuinely essential in most of India. One brownout mid-write can corrupt a drive, and a cheap UPS costs a fraction of the parts it protects.
External SSD (backup)
Clips, configs, footage. The drive that eventually fails is always the one with the only copy of something on it.
Upgrade order
If the budget is tight, buy in this order. It's ranked by improvement per rupee, not by what's most exciting to unbox.
Mousepad
Costs the least, removes a real limitation immediately.
UPS
Protects everything else you are about to buy. Cheap insurance in India.
Mouse
Weight and sensor consistency affect every single duel.
Monitor
Highest refresh you can afford. The clarity jump is enormous.
Headset
Positional audio is free information most players ignore.
Desk & chair
Affects how long you can play well, which compounds over months.
Keyboard
Genuinely the least impactful. Buy it last.

Prices change constantly. All prices are indicative August 2026 India retail in ₹ and are not offers to sell. DRAM and NAND are both mid-shortage, so memory and storage in particular move week to week, and the spread between retailers on an identical part is routinely ₹2,000–₹5,000.
